Cabin John Village Movies on the Green: Outdoor Movies in Potomac, MD

Last month, I took my preschooler to see Frozen at the first Movies on the Green event of the season at Cabin John Village. He was on cloud nine and loved everything about it (other than the snow monster scene in the movie). This Friday, June 7th, is the next outdoor movie event featuring The Little Mermaid (2023). These events are free and don’t require a ticket.

These events start at 6:30 pm, but the movies don’t begin until sunset. My Gym Potomac sets up fun games and activities for kids on the lawn. The first movie night had free face painting and balloon animals, as well as table displays by local businesses. Apricot Lane was there with shirts and accessories available for purchase.

I claimed our spot on the lawn as soon as we arrived, and around 7:15 pm, my son sat down to have a snack while I ordered a pizza online from Colony Grill. Colony Grill is great for feeding kids because you can request that they double-cut the pizza. Kema by Kenaki sushi is right there near the lawn too if you want to pick up something a little fancier for yourself.

I recommend parking in the lot behind the Shell gas station and getting as close to the lawn as you can, rather than parking in the main shopping center parking lot (in front of the Giant) and lugging your stuff from there.
